Joe - My concern is that I don't think Facebook's People You May Know feature is adhering to any of the privacy settings I've laid out. As a rule, the only people who should be able to see anything about me or people in my college network and those I'm already friends with. Clearly, if non friends, that work in my industry but didn't go to school with me, are finding me via this feature something is NOT working.

The Privacy settings on facebook are quite granular and are worth looking at in depth http://www.facebook.com/privacy/. They screw stuff up regularly, but they have done a good job allowing folks to control who can see what.
As for ex-boyfriends, you can block anyone you like using that same Privacy page.
Just dropped in to this blog via Twitter. Nifty site.

I agree on the "people you may know" feature. I see all kinds of people that two of my Facebook Freinds know listed, even though I have no clue who they are. And like you, I'm wondering where I'm showing up for random people.

If I'm going to break out of my little anti-social shell, I want to be in control of it! ;)
