Bruce Clay Blog : 5/40 : Fun StuffMay 20, 2011
As many of you may know, the end of the world starts this weekend.
Susan tells me she does not plan on coming into work on Monday if she’s left behind.
I probably won’t either, so this could be the last entry in our blog. Now, THAT’S a sad story.
But, we still have a responsibility to create a Friday Recap, so let’s get to it.

As many of you noticed this week, our servers were irritable and decided to shut down the blog on numerous occasions. We were pleasantly surprised at how many people took the time to contact us and let us know. We had messages through Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, text and phone call. Susan joked that next would come smoke signals and then telegram:
“BLOG IS DOWN STOP GET IT TOGETHER STOP NO SERIOUSLY STOP THIS IS ANNOYING STOP”
So, in case you were equally as disappointed as us to get that cute little 404 message when you dropped by (BTW, you should have all the copies of the Search Engine Relationship Chart that you need by now), I’m starting the Friday Recap with a roundup of this week’s posts to our blog.

I wasn’t into following the royal wedding at all. I had almost completely tuned out the coverage leading up to the ceremony that happened today. And I certainly didn’t wake up in the middle of night to watch it.
I was convinced I was immune to all the excitement. This morning, I decided to check out the Royal Channel on YouTube – just to see what Kate’s dress was like.

The people that work here at Bruce Clay, Inc. are an awesome lot. We all have a great sense of humor, and there’s not a day that goes by that you don’t hear laughter. This week, I thought we’d take a journey into some of the joy the BCI staff brings to each other.
First and foremost, it was my one-year anniversary here this week, and Susan brought me cake. But not just any cake. It was red velvet cake (my absolute favorite) from Nothing Bundt Cakes.
Susan has been talking about this place since I came here, and this week, I discovered why a hole in the middle of a cake is a magical thing (frosting well!).

Happy Friday and April Fools’ Day! You know who isn’t a fool? Chris Hart, our director of eastern region operations. In fact, I would say Chris is the exact opposite of a fool. Chris is a genius. Why? Because he overnighted bagels from New York to our offices here in Southern California today.
This all started with a heartbroken liveblogger covering SES in NYC last week. See, in New York, there’s kinda this thing it’s known for: great bagels. Sadly, this liveblogger did not see one bagel at the conference. I’m sure she would have even settled for a not-so-great bagel. Because bagels are the fuel for this liveblogger’s typing.
