Web Developer/Programmer

We are a growing and reputable web marketing company that is looking for a dependable, experienced web programmer. The web programmer is responsible for helping to maintain current projects and Web sites as well as help create new software and applications. Must work independently when needed and within a team environment when needed. Must be able to handle multiple, concurrent projects. Bruce Clay, Inc. has a lively work environment and a business casual dress code.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Development

• Assist on all aspects of development for new applications and upgrades to existing applications. This includes, but is not limited to, assistance on:
• creation of specifications
• design and implementation
• programming and testing
• documentation, training and support
• Help develop database schemas and data management processes.
• Develop software tools for both in-house and client/subscriber needs.

Other Duties

• Work with IT Manager to review and analyze current processes and implementation and improve if needed.
• Team with other design and development staff to create new software and review current software. Suggest changes/upgrades if needed.
• Participate in design/planning and progress meetings with other staff and IT Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree preferred, but not required.
• 3 or more years developing or programming for the web.
• An understanding of the following languages and markups:
• Python
• C or C++
• JavaScript
• SQL
• XML
• HTML
• .NET (C# or VB) preferred, but not required
• A demonstrated understanding of documentation.
• Be detail oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Be able to develop with a best practice methodology.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Be self-disciplined and work alone and on a team.
• Able to maintain confidentiality.

Additional Information

• Reports directly to the IT Manager.
• Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
