PPC Management Costs

If you are like many of our clients you probably have a Pay Per Click (PPC) account at Yahoo! Search Marketing, FindWhat, or Google. Over the past few years, these PPC accounts have certainly helped many clients increase traffic to their web site.

Unfortunately, managing these accounts is significantly time and labor intensive. You need to login, view each listing, determine if you need to make bid changes, and apply the changes. You then logout and then login into the next PPC account and repeat the process. Of course, the more keywords you have, the more time and labor is involved.

If you are like most pay per click marketing account holders, you repeat this process a couple of times a day to optimize your position and bid.

As you know, the amount of time and labor required to manage PPC accounts keeps increasing. Worse yet, managing these accounts often reduces time available or directly conflicts with other important projects. If the time and labor wasn't enough, the constant changes in the PPC search engine marketing programs have made managing these accounts onerous at best. For example, Yahoo! Search Marketing now requires that you provide an additional password to access the account and view the keyword bids from their home page.

Try this simple exercise to calculate your PPC search engine marketing costs:

What is your time worth -- $20, $30, $40 per hour or more?

How many hours per day do you spend managing your PPC accounts -- 1/2, 1, 2, 3 hours, or more?

If you spend 2 hours a day at $30 per hour, this equates to $60 per day.

Assuming you work 20 days per month, this is $1,200 per month, thus $14,400 per year.

Now take a moment and estimate your costs.

Of course this does not include hidden costs such as burden (employee benefits such as insurance, pension, 401k matching, vacation and sick hours, etc.) and fixed costs (computer maintenance, office space, etc.). For many businesses hidden costs range from 20% to 35% of the base rate.

To assist with this increasing complexity and apparent raising cost, we have decided to offer pay per click management as an additional service. And not just any PPC management, but an extended and customized version of industry flagship products. This service will help our clients better manage their campaigns (read this as MONEY), and to allow them more time to focus on their core business operations.
