Announcing the Winner of our Small Biz Local Discovery Contest

Bruce Clay, Inc. is proud to announce the winner of our Small Biz Local Discovery Contest. We asked for an article that addressed the question, “How would you advise a small business owner on how best to use SEO, PPC or Social Media to drive conversions to a local business?” We received four submissions jam-packed with excellent recommendations for local businesses looking to optimize their online presence, and our readers choose their favorite. Voting ended Wednesday, August 10, and we’ve tallied up all the votes.

Kathy Long is the winner of our grand prize. Kathy’s article, Conversion SEO: 4 Tips to Get Your Cash Register Kachinging, contains great advice on what visitors see when your page appears in search results, and how to take full advantage of your site’s Meta tags to turn your top keyword rankings into cold, hard conversions.

Kathy wins a 3-day All-Access Pass to SMX East 2011, a seat in the SMX East 1-day SEO training with Bruce Clay and a copy of SEO All-in-One for Dummies.

Winning our second place prize is Louis Girifalco and his article, Execute Hundreds of Hours of Social Media Marketing in One Afternoon. Louis explains how to use various Web browser add-ons to greatly increase the effectiveness of your Social Media efforts. Louis wins a seat in Bruce Clay’s SEOToolSet® Training Course (Standard) in beautiful Simi Valley, CA, as well as a copy of SEO All-in-One for Dummies.

Our runners-up are Samara Hart and Anthony Piwarun. Samara’s article, Small Business Guide to Using Local SEO to Get New Customers, explains Google’s new feature, local intent, and how to optimize your site to drive local traffic to your business. Anthony’s article, 3 Surefire Ways to Increase Visibility and Bring in Customers to Your Local Business, gives you more information on ranking for local searches, like how to take advantage of the “Local 7,” including Google Places and Bing Local. Samara and Anthony will each receive a copy of SEO All-in-One for Dummies.

We’d like to thank everyone who entered our contest and shared their Search Engine Marketing expertise with our readers – you’ve done a wonderful service for our industry and the local business community. We’d also like to say thanks to everyone who voted for their favorite article – we couldn’t have had a successful contest without your participation.

Again, congratulations to Kathy Long and the rest of our winners!
