Company Updates – Bruce Clay Housekeeping

Some important reminders and more stuff that I should have mentioned but didn’t because I am a bad, bad minion.

SEO Contest Deadline Is Coming!

Just a reminder that the deadline to submit your site assessment and enter our SMX Charity Contest is Friday, May 11th.. That would be this Friday for those of you too poor to invest in a desk calendar (represent!). I know because May 11th is also my mother’s birthday. Forget it and I’m an orphan.

Seriously, please remember to get your submissions in. We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback about this contest and we can’t wait to see what you guys come up with. Where else you can you win almost $4,000 in training just for helping a worthy cause?

Bruce Clay Is Hiring!

Last week Susan and I asked if you were cool enough to join our Writing Department and work side-by-side with SEO’s biggest killjoy and its most adorable blogger. If you haven’t sent us a resume yet and want to, now is the time.

I suppose, I also should have mentioned that we’re looking for new Bruce Clay family members for a variety of different positions. You can check out all the openings on the Bruce Clay Employment page. I think the Writing gig is the coolest job on that page, but if you’re into that whole “optimization” thing, the others may be better suited for you. Have no fear; any job you apply for will put you within walking distance of me!

Training Goes Abroad This Summer

We’re getting a lot of 90 degree days here in Southern California and coworkers are starting to come back from “sick days” with suspicious tans. It can only mean one thing: Summer is coming, summer is coming!

This summer, SEOToolSet training is going on a road trip hitting all of our International offices. Training lands in London on June 13-15, in Cape Town, South Africa on July 9-11 and in Sydney, Australia on August 6-8. We encourage all of our international readers and SEOs on holiday to try and make it to one of these sessions.

You can all the goods on the London training, South Africa training, and Australia training pages.

I thought “Bruce Clay Housekeeping” meant doing a little spring cleaning (read: getting rid of Lisa).

Lisa, after Bruce fires you let’s go to South Africa. We can lament about how we’re the slowest runners on the continent.

I hear you, my friend. The Web and the world would be a much better place if Lisa was given more importance.

You said… “Have no fear; any job you apply for will put you within walking distance of me!”

So, I was going through the pros and cons of getting a job today and in the “pros” corner there was “If I worked, then I could be near Lisa Barone.”

Imagine my frustration when I went to monster.com and found they had no option of sorting jobs by “vicinity to Lisa”.

The web could benefit from an such an option. When I do a search I want results ordered by how near they are to you. If I search for “pizza” there should be a notation next to the search results that states “This pizza is 4.5 miles from the shiny, healthy hair of Lisa Barone.”

When is the web gonna catch up to the importance of you? They just don’t get it.
