INTERNATIONAL: Popular SEO Training Course Hitting Europe Soon

April 17, 2012

Bruce Clay Europe is bringing back its popular SEO Training Course led by SEO legend Bruce Clay and a talented team of search marketers on June 20  through June 21.

Held in Milan and just in time for Fashion Week (June 23 to June 27), marketing professionals can make a holiday of the trip, soaking in culture and cutting-edge search marketing tactics while there.

We had a chance to speak with Ale Agostini, managing director for Bruce Clay Europe, to talk about what you can expect from the two-day SEO Training course in Milan.

SEO Newsletter: What is the general level of understanding of SEO in Italy and what opportunities do businesses face online?

Ale Agostini: In Italy, there are more than 3.5 million of SMBs, and they prefer to use online advertising because it’s much more scalable than the advertising on the radio or on the TV, and the AdWords advertisers have a total cost control. Moreover, Google helps them to sell their niche products directly to the interested customers. But in Italy, the general level of understanding of SEO is on the low to intermediate. Businesses use Google Adwords to improve their visibility on the Web, but they don’t have a good understanding of how search engine optimization works. So, in Italy there is a big opportunity for the SMBs to increase their presence on the Web.

Who should attend the Bruce Clay’s SEO training class?

Generally, the target audience for the SEO Training class is marketing managers, Web designers and business owners, because they need to understand how advertising on Google, natural rankings and paid search really works. In the past year, we noticed an increased interest by copywriters who typically work in offline environments; this is because the process of the Web writing for SEO is a totally different skill set.

Is there a demand for SEO education by Europe’s business community?

We’ve noticed in the previous year that there has been an increased interest in search engine marketing, probably due to the economic crisis. SMBs want to find alternative selling channels. In addition, business owners realize that SEO investments are more profitable in the long term.
